High-Temperature, High-Efficiency Heat Exchangers for Industrial Sector Developed

Through a NEDO Project, the Thermal Management Materials and Technology Research Association (TherMAT) developed a high-efficiency heat exchanger capable of operating at temperatures as high as 1,300 degrees Celsius. This technology recovers three times as much thermal energy released from the industrial process and industrial furnaces as compared to conventional technology.

To make more effective use of wasted heat energy, one of the association members, Mino Ceramic Co., Ltd., has commercialized the technology and will begin sales of the heat exchangers this month.

In the future, Mino Ceramic aim to spread the supply or adapt of the heat exchanger and further improve the performance of the technology.
