NEDO Begins Work on Two New R&D Projects Focused on the Social Implementation of Cellulose Nano-Fibers

- Evaluating the safety and reviewing and analyzing the characteristics of CNF -
May  25,2017
New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)

NEDO has launched two new R&D projects regarding cellulose nano-fibers (CNF), which are expected to be applied in a variety of ways as new materials, and has selected contractors for the R&D projects.

NEDO has been proceeding with the development of a full-scale production process for CNF from raw materials to final chemical products. Through the new R&D projects, NEDO will further promote the social implementation of CNF by developing new safety evaluation methods for CNF, as well as working on evaluating and analyzing the characteristics of the optimal raw materials to use to create highly functional CNF products.
