1. Overview

NEDO will take part in INNOPROM, Russia's largest industrial trade fair, to be held in Ekaterinburg, Russia, from July 10-13, 2017. INNOPROM is an annual trade fair that showcases future trends in Russia's industrial and manufacturing industries, and also functions as a platform to encourage and promote international cooperation. In July 2016, Japan became the official partner country for INNOPROM-2017.*

As an organization affiliated with the Japanese government, NEDO’s booth will be located in the Japan Pavilion where NEDO will display the latest Japanese technologies, such as a robotic wheelchair chair and heat/electricity cogeneration systems. NEDO will also participate in panel discussions to help promote international corporate collaboration focused on new technologies.

Location Japan Pavilion, Pavilion 1 Booth Number: 1 JP-39, Ekaterinburg-EXPO (Japan Pavilion hosted by Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO))
Theme Global Solutions for the Next
Booth Overview NEDO will display technologies that will serve as solutions to issues confronting both Russia and the world. Some examples are the world’s first robotic wheelchair for the elderly and disabled, as well as gas turbine-powered heat/electricity cogeneration systems that enable a stable energy supply. These represent just some of the cutting-edge technologies NEDO is actively working on that contribute to the enhancement of our lifestyle and the urban environment, provide a stable regional energy supply, and improve factory processes. NEDO hopes to not only resolve a wide range of energy, environmental, social and industrial issues, but also create new global opportunities for businesses in Russia and around the world.

Products and panels on display

robotic wheelchair
"Rodem," the world's first safe and simple robotic wheelchair for the elderly and disabled
  • ・Safe and simple transfer between bed, chair and toilet, one of the biggest challenges for nursing care in an aging society.
  • ・Rodem’s chair adjusts to the height of a bed or toilet so you just need to slide forward to move between them.
Exhibitor: tmsuk Co., Ltd.
High-performance industrial drones
High-performance industrial drones for a wide range of uses such as agricultural spraying and disaster area surveys
  • ・Light and reliable frame made with carbon composite materials and unique bonding technologies.
  • ・Can be fitted with a variety of measuring instruments and cameras, sensors and other applications.
Exhibitor: ENROUTE CO., LTD.
Gas turbine-driven heat/electricity cogeneration system
Gas turbine-driven heat/electricity cogeneration system for an efficient and stable regional power supply
  • ・Achieves over 80% total heat/electricity efficiency with electricity generated by a gas turbine, with waste heat used to generate steam or hot water.
  • ・The gas turbine is easy to maintain with a longer interval between overhauls compared to other similar products.
  • ・Verification tests are underway in Uzbekistan.
Exhibitors: Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., Marubeni Utility Services, Ltd.
coke dry quenching
Coke dry quenching (CDQ): a well-known energy saving technology in the steel making industry
  • ・The coke manufacturing process is the one part of steel making that has the greatest potential for improving energy efficiencies. Inert circulating gases are used to recover heat from red hot coke. This heat is used to generate steam and electricity, and is also used elsewhere in the steel making process.
  • ・Effective use of heat by this system can reduce CO2 emissions by 137,000 tons per year for every 100 tons of coke processed per hour with CDQ.
Exhibitor: Nippon Steel & Sumikin Engineering Co., Ltd.
