May 29, 2018

On May 28, NEDO signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) with Kawasaki City to establish the Kawasaki-NEDO Innovation Center (K-NIC) (tentative name). Its goal will be to support startups from discovery through growth.

At the signing of this memorandum, NEDO Chairman Hiroaki Ishizuka expressed his hope that NEDO's collaboration will help to make Kawasaki into a mecca for entrepreneurs and open innovation. His hope is that it will work with NEDO to spur innovation, and help to strengthen the competitiveness of Japanese industry.

This MOC was concluded based on the agreement made between NEDO and Kawasaki City in June of 2016 to promote the development and growth of cutting-edge technology and medium to small scale startup companies.
