May 31, 2018

On May 29, NEDO held the Business Matching Event "AR/VR/MR in the Robotic World" in cooperation with the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA), the Embassy of Israel in Japan, and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The event was held in a conference hall at JETRO headquarters (Minato Ward, Tokyo) and saw 150 people attend.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Avi Luvton, the Asia Pacific Executive Director of the Israel Innovation Authority, introduced the Israeli companies visiting Japan and his expectations for their future collaboration with Japanese companies. Then NEDO Executive Director Takashi Omote mentioned the NEDO-IIA co-funding program for international joint R&D projects conducted by Japanese and Israeli companies.

The seven Israeli companies visiting Japan have technologies related to AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality) and MR (Mixed Reality) for practical use.

In the first part of the event, each Israeli company gave presentations. In the second part, individual meetings between Japanese and Israeli companies took place (matching event). Both sections of the event had a success.
