June 18, 2018

NEDO participated in the "16th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Intellectual Production," which was held in Yamaguchi Prefecture on June 14 and 15.

In addition to engaging in activities related to capability building for industry-academia cooperation and comprehensive support for local industry-academia collaborations, the Japan Society for Intellectual Production works to establish jobs related to such collaborations as specialist areas of work. As NEDO is similarly committed to the promotion of industry-academia cooperation, it co-hosts this annual event with the society.

In his speech, Dr. Masayoshi Watanabe, Executive Director of NEDO, highlighted the importance of stimulating and supporting industry-academia collaborations with the aim of not only enhancing Japan's industrial strength but also realizing the goals of NEDO's fourth medium- to long-term plan. He also discussed the significance of the role played by the Japan Society for Intellectual Production.

At this meeting, NEDO also gave a presentation and chaired an organized session.
