NEDO Participates in 27th Conference of Parties to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27)

On November 15-16, 2022, NEDO organized a side event at the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) held at Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

During the side event, presentations were made regarding the outcomes of the recent Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF) organized by NEDO, including two new ICEF roadmap documents entitled “Low Carbon Ammonia” and “Blue Carbon.” Following the presentations, a panel session was held where a wide range of actions were discussed regarding how to accelerate the creation of innovations that could help realize carbon neutrality by 2050, and relevant NEDO projects were introduced, such as those that leverage Japan’s Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM). Panelists also discussed ways that Japan might contribute to the international community through the dissemination of its technologies that support measures to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
