November 18, 2010

NEDO and the National Research Foundation* (NRF) of Singapore concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on comprehensive cooperation in research and development of energy, environmental and industrial technologies in November 16, 2010. The MOU was signed by Mr. Takefumi Fukumizu, President of NEDO, and Dr. Francis S C Yeaoh, Chief Executive Officer of NRF. Under this agreement, NEDO and NRF will start the discussion regarding joint R&D project implementation.

This MOU was concluded based on the results of the opinion exchange session held at NEDO in March 2010 between NEDO Chairman Murata and Mr. Teo Ming Kian, Permanent Secretary of NRF, in search of the possibility for joint project implementation, both indicating a high-level of interest for respective R&D activities.

Upon conclusion of the MOU, President Fukumizu and CEO Yeaoh confirmed future cooperation in a wide range of fields, taking into consideration the statement by CEO Yeaoh that energy is the highly interested field in Singapore. NEDO aims to further promote joint R&D activities by Japan's research organizations and enterprises through cooperation with NRF.
