JSCA Delegation visited Europe for Smart Community Seminar

  The Japan Smart Community Alliance* (JSCA), for which NEDO serves as the secretariat, dispatched a Japanese delegation consisting of the members from the government and the private sector to Europe from November 16 to 19, 2010. The delegation held smart community seminars jointly with the relevant organizations from Germany, the European Commission and France and exchanged opinions on each country's status, addressing challenging issues in the development of smart community, in addition to matters regarding international standardization, global development trend as well as future development. Based on the results of the seminars, the participating members of the delegation will further promote collaboration in the implementation of national projects and international cooperative activities at the private-sector level.

  *The Japan Smart Community Alliance was established for the purpose of promoting public-private efforts in the development of smart community by encouraging cross-sectoral activities, researching adminstrative needs and addressing challenges in order to contribute to the global development of smart community including smart grid and related services, which are attracting significant interest in terms of mass introduction of renewable energy sources and power demand control.
