NEDO and the Government of Myanmar Conclude Letter of Intent for Introduction of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Technologies in Myanmar

 The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization of Japan (NEDO) and the Rural Energy Development Committee of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (REDC) have reached an agreement on comprehensive cooperation in the field of renewable energy and other relevant areas.
 The agreement was publicly announced on January 13, 2012, in Naypyidaw, Mynammar, and was concluded after the Ministerial Dialogue on Japan-Myanmar Economic and Industrial Cooperation. Signing ceremony for a Letter of Intent (LOI) was attended by Mr. Yukio Edano, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Mr. Furukawa, Chairman of NEDO, Mr. U Tin Naing Thein, Union Minister for National Planning and Economic Development, Mr. Than Htaik, Secretary of Rural Energy Development Committee and other relevant personnel.
 Experts from the both countries will discuss future activities to realize the concluded cooperative agreement.
