Regenerative Medical Project Kicks off in Thailand

 NEDO and the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand (MOC) agreed on November 23, 2012, to cooperate in the implementation of the Cooperative Research and Development on Regenerative and Cell-related Medical Technologies and the Optimization of Manufacturing Infrastructures to be conducted in the Kingdom of Thailand and an MOU for the project was concluded between NEDO Executive Director Kurata and Director General Piramol Charoenpao of the Department of Trade Negotiations (DTN), MOC.
 This will start full-scale cooperative project implementation between Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., Mukogawa Womens' University, etc. and Chulalongkorn University of Thailand, introducing an automated cell processing robot system called R-CPX (Robotized-Cell Processing eXpert system), which is best suited for Thailand's environment and infrastructure, to local medical institutions, thereby verifying utility of the facility and efficacy of remote operation in the field of regenerative and cell medicine.
