Testing Operation Ceremony for the Rice Husk Gasification Power Generation Project in Cambodia

 Construction of NEDO's energy and environmental technology project demonstration site in the Kingdom of Cambodia, consisting of various apparatus including a rice husk gasification power generation system, was completed and a testing operation ceremony was held on March 20, 2013.  The ceremony was attended by Minister Suy Sem of Industry, Mines and Energy of Cambodia and approximately 300 personnel from Cambodian government, relevant companies and local resident. NEDO Chairman Furukawa, at the beginning of the ceremony, expressed his strong hope that this project would be widely deployed and disseminated as the newest model in Cambodia, stating NEDO's plan to provide support for the introduction and dissemination of the power generation system.
 Chairman Furukawa and Minister Suy Sem, prior to the ceremony, confirmed joint implementation of follow-up activities such as trainings for engineers and seminars and concluded an memorandum of understanding (MOU).
