NEDO and Ames Lab Conclude MOU for Critical Materials Cooperation

NEDO concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ames Laboratory (*1) of the U.S. Department of Energy(DOE) on September 9, 2013 in order to promote research activities related to effective use of critical materials and the reduction of supply risk of such materials.

NEDO Executive Director Ueda attended the signing ceremony and stated he hoped that the conclusion of this MOU would bolster cooperative relationship between Japan and the U.S. in the field of effective utilization, substitution, reduction and recycling of critical materials, advancing R&D activities of the two countries.

In addition, Executive Director Ueda met with DOE Assistant Secretary Danielson and confirmed to reinforce cooperative relationship in the implementation of projects in the United States.
