Closing Ceremony held for NEDO-IRENA Joint Training Programme to Accelerate Solar Photovoltaic Deployment in Developing Countries

A closing ceremony for the NEDO-IRENA joint training programme was held on October 11, 2013, after intensive training sessions carried out from 25 September and 11 October, in the UAE and Japan.
 This programme was jointly conducted by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and NEDO, aiming to develop capacities for fast-growing renewable energy technologies in developing countries with a particular focus on project development and implementation for solar photovoltaic (PV) energy. A group of 38 trainees from 27 different countries participated in lectures and hands-on training provided by leading experts in the field of renewable energy. The programme is expected to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills and sharing of best practices to accelerate the deployment and sustainable use of renewable energy.
