Held Ceremony to Mark Completion of Waste Heat Recovery and Power Generation System at Steel Mill in India

On July 30, NEDO held a ceremony in Andrha Pradesh, India, to mark completion of a waste heat recovery and power generation system jointly demonstrated by NEDO and India's Ministry of Steel. A dissemination seminar was also held to announce the final results of the demonstration project.

Attendees from Japan were NEDO Executive Director Fumio Ueda and executives from the contractor JP Steel Plantech Co., and attendees from India were the Vice Minister of Steel, and executives from RINL.

In his greeting, Executive Director Ueda expressed his expectations that this outstanding energy-conservation technology will help solve India's energy problems as it is disseminated within the country.

The seminar was attended by about 200 participants from the steel field in Japan and India.
