NEDO Attended a Cornerstone Laying Ceremony in Andhra Pradesh, India

On October 22nd, a cornerstone laying ceremony was held in Amaravati, located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India, which is the planned site for the new state capital scheduled to be completed by 2024. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other officials from the Indian government also attended the ceremony. NEDO Executive Director Munehiko Tsuchiya attended the ceremony alongside other Japanese government officials.

NEDO Executive Director Tsuchiya and Japan’s State Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Yosuke Takagi met with Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and confirmed that both sides will further strengthen cooperation towards Andhra Pradesh's development of a new capital.
