NEDO Participates in Roundtable Sessions with India’s Minister Goyal

Roundtable sessions were held in Tokyo with Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy of India, who visited Japan to participate in the 8th Japan-India Energy Dialogue. NEDO took part in the clean coal technology and smart grid sessions on January 13 and 14 respectively. NEDO Chairman Kazuo Furukawa introduced NEDO’s activities in the smart grid session, including its smart grid demonstration project launched in India in December of last year, and exchanged opinions with Minister Goyal and representatives of relevant Indian companies. Minister Goyal expressed his expectation for the project and appreciation for the extensive activities NEDO has carried out in India, such as clean coal projects.

Prior to the sessions, the 8th Japan-India Energy Dialogue was held on January 12. It was attended by NEDO President Akihiko Miyamoto along with Minister Motoo Hayashi of Japan’s Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry.
