Final Report Workshop for Smart Community Demonstration Held in Malaga, Spain

On January 29, NEDO held the final report workshop for its smart community demonstration project in Malaga City, which is located in Andalusia in the southern part of Spain. Approximately 250 people involved in the project from both Spain and Japan participated in the workshop, including Mr. de la Torre, Mayor of Malaga City, Malaga municipal government officials, and representatives of Japan’s embassy in Spain. During the workshop, companies which participated in the project reported on the achievements of the project. Presentations were given by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Hitachi of Japan, and Endesa, a major electricity power company in Spain.

The workshop was successfully held together with several side events, such as an award ceremony for recognizing electric vehicle (EV) users who proactively participated in the project.
