NEDO Held a Joint Workshop with U.S. Government Agency ARPA-E

On February 24 and 25, 2016, NEDO and the Advanced Research Project Agency-Energy (ARPA-E), a US funding agency that invests in energy technology under the Department of Energy, held a joint workshop in Washington, D.C. that focused on various energy-related technologies such as hydrogen technology and energy storage technology.

The Japanese experts delegation led by Dr. Tomoji Kawai, Executive Director of NEDO’s Technology Strategy Center, and Dr. Ellen Williams, Director of ARPA-E as well as three ARPA-E Deputy Directors and Program Directors had engaged in active discussions about current status and future prospects of various promising technologies, challenges associated with these technologies, and an approach to solve such challenges.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr. Kawai and Dr. Williams agreed to continue information exchange on this topic.
