"Study on Utilization of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Technologies for Infrastructure Maintenance Symposium" Held

On March 10th, NEDO held "Study on Utilization of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Technologies for Infrastructure Maintenance Symposium" with the support of the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan.

At the symposium, experts including Program Director Yozo Fujino and Sub-Program Director Yusaku Okada gave an overview of the project activities and spoke about the exit strategies for the “Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP), Infrastructure Maintenance, Renovation, and Management” which NEDO is responsible for managing. NEDO also reported on the results of a recent research study on UAV technology utilization.

In addition, a panel discussion was held on innovation strategies, challenges and future outlook for UAVs in the infrastructure maintenance and management area, which resulted in a lively exchange of perspectives.

Over 200 people participated in the symposium, providing many opinions and expectations regarding exit strategies and the importance of information dissemination.
