Ceremony to Commemorate the Start of ZEB-related Equipment Operations Held in the State of New York, U.S.A.

NEDO, in collaboration with SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly), has competed the installation of energy-saving demonstration technologies in the Zero Energy Nanotechnology (ZEN) Building which was completed in summer 2015 SUNY Poly’s Nanotech Megaplex in Albany, NY. On March 22, 2016, NEDO held a ceremony at the ZEN Building to commemorate the start of operation.

From the Japanese side, Munehiko Tsuchiya, Executive Director of NEDO, attended the ceremony, as well as Kazuo Nakamoto, Managing Officer of Shimizu Corporation. The US side was represented by Professor Pradeep Haldar at SUNY Poly. At the ceremony. Executive Director Tsuchiya said, “NEDO hopes that this project will provide best practice for ZEB technologies and encourage a wider dissemination of ZEB technologies not only in the State of New York but also across the United States to meet ZEB requirements for newly-constructed commercial buildings.”
