NEDO Concluded MOU on an International Demonstration Project with India's Ministry of Steel

On April 28th, NEDO concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Indian Ministry of Steel, the Indian Ministry of Finance, and the state-owned steel company Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in New Delhi in the Republic of India to collaborate on two demonstration projects: a demonstration project on High Performance Industrial Furnace (Regenerative Burner System for Reheating Furnace) and a demonstration project on Optimal Control Technology on Energy Center for Steel Plants in India. These technologies are part of a customized list of energy conservation technologies targeted for widespread promotion with the approval of both countries through the Public and Private Collaborative Meeting between Indian and Japanese Iron and Steel Industry.

The MOU was signed by Mr. Munehiko Tsuchiya (Executive Director, NEDO), Mr. Sunil Barthwal (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel), Mr. S. Selvakumar (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance/Department of Economic Affairs), and Mr. S. S. Mohanty (Director (Technical), Steel Authority of India).
