NEDO attended "Asian Utility Week 2016", held in Bangkok

On May 31 and June 1, NEDO attended "Asian utility week 2016" which is the Asian largest conference on the utility industry held in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the plenary session, Makoto Watanabe, Executive Director of NEDO introduced various technological developments and demonstration projects on smart communities which NEDO has implemented in and outside Japan, and appealed the accomplishments to the audience.

In addition, he stated the importance of collaboration with organizations abroad and building networks internationally for the further development of smart communities. He also described the activities through the international organizations such as International Smart Grid Action Network (ISGAN) joined by governmental institutions from each country, and Global Smart Grid Federation (GSGF) comprised of organizations to promote smart grid from 18 countries or regions.
