Ceremony Held to Celebrate the Completion of a Demonstration Plant for an Oil Recycling System in Indonesia

On October 12, 2016, a ceremony was held in Balikpapan in the East Kalimantan province of the Republic of Indonesia to celebrate the completion of a demonstration plant for an oil recycling system, a joint project conducted by NEDO and the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (BPPT).

At the ceremony, the Japanese side was represented by Munehiko Tsuchiya, Executive Director of NEDO, as well as Takamitsu Seki, President of Toa Oil Kogyosho Co., Ltd., while the Indonesia side was represented by Dr. Unggul Priyanto, Chairman of BPPT, as well as members of the local community of East Kalimantan and Balikpapan.

During the event, Executive Director Tsuchiya said, "NEDO hopes that this project will serve as a good model and lead to the expansion throughout Indonesia of proven technologies to solve the urgent issue of developing recycling systems for various kinds of waste oil including oils of hard-to-recycle composition in Indonesia."
