NEDO Held the "Kickoff Symposium for the Development of Production Techniques for Highly Functional Biomaterials Using Smart Cells of Plants and Other Organisms"

On November 14, NEDO held the "Kickoff Symposium for the Development of Production Techniques for Highly Functional Biomaterials Using Smart Cells of Plants and Other Organisms" in Tokyo.

At the symposium, policymakers and experts gave lectures on biotechnology manufacturing from the perspective of Japan's policy trends, projects and development directions of Japanese companies, and the latest technology trends including the potential of collaboration between AI and biotechnology researchers as well as the potential of genome editing technology.

In addition, to realize the "Smart Cells Industry" that the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is promoting, project contractors who are on the frontline of the field gave lectures on their projects.
