NEDO Participates in COP22

NEDO held two side events together with other organizations at the Japan Pavilion at COP22/CMP12/CMA1*1 on November 16, 2016, in Marrakech, Morocco.

At the first event co-hosted by NEDO and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the CO2 Utilization Roadmap and ZEB/ZEH Roadmap*2 were launched as outcomes of the third annual Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF). In addition, Executive Director Makoto Watanabe of NEDO presented an overview of ICEF and explained its role.

NEDO hosted the second event together with the Global Industrial and Social Progress Research Institute (GISPRI); the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ); and Keidanren (Japan Business Federation). The event was named "Post-Paris Agreement: Actions for the Ultimate Goal of Global Net Zero Emissions by Promoting Economic Growth Through Innovation".

In both events, NEDO emphasized the importance of achieving net zero emissions of CO2 by promoting innovation.
