"12th ADEME-NEDO Joint Workshop" Held

On December 8, NEDO and the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) held the "12th ADEME-NEDO Joint Workshop" in Tokyo. The workshop centered on the theme of circular economy and recycling technology, leading to a lively discussion between Japanese and French environment-related companies.

Prior to the workshop, NEDO Chairman Kazuo Furukawa and President of ADEME Bruno Lechevin gave speeches at the "France-Japan Innovation Year Forum" celebrating the 25th anniversary of the cooperative relationship between NEDO and ADEME in Osaka on December 6. Both organizations reconfirmed that they will continue to cooperate during the next quarter century as organizations which are expected to play a leading role in addressing energy and global warming problems.

At the forum, Director Eiji Ohira of the NEDO New Energy Technology Department participated in the "Political and Industrial Roundtable on Hydrogen" on December 7, gave a lecture on the development of hydrogen technology in Japan, and also had a discussion with Japanese and French public institutions and local governments regarding projects to realize a hydrogen society.
