"2016 Strategy for International Standardization (AIST) - Exit Strategies of Developments (NEDO) Joint Symposium" Held

On December 16, 2016, NEDO and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) together held the "2016 Strategy for International Standardization (AIST) - Exit Strategies of Developments (NEDO) Joint Symposium" in Tokyo. The symposium was titled "Transition to Smart Energy Management World from Japan: Standardization and Intellectual Property Strategy for Realizing Resilient Societies".

At the symposium, Speakers introduced issues and trends in international standardization as well as various Japanese projects including NEDO international demonstration projects concerning the energy system. This was followed by a panel discussion regarding challenges and directions in standardization and intellectual property strategy to realize the smart energy management world. NEDO Adviser Dr. Koichi Ogawa, Senior Researcher at the University of Tokyo, served as the moderator of a lively discussion with the other panelists.
