NEDO signed a letter of intent with the Government of the Republic of Buryatia of the Russian Federation

On December 16, 2016, NEDO and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia of the Russian Federation signed a letter of intent regarding waste treatment technology at the venue of the "Japan-Russia Business Dialogue Meeting" in Tokyo.

The letter of intent was focused on the field of urban planning, part of the eight-point cooperation plan in the economic field that was discussed at the Japan-Russia Summit Meeting. NEDO Executive Director Makoto Watanabe and Minister of Natural Resources of the Republic of Buryatia Yuriy Safiyanov signed the letter of intent for information exchange aimed at expanding the use of waste treatment technology. Executive Director Watanabe met with Minister Safiyanov on the day before the meeting. They exchanged views on the situation concerning related laws and regulations and financial planning in Russia.
