NEDO Signed a Joint Statement of Intent on Bilateral Cooperation in Research, Development and Innovation along with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany

On March 19, 2017, NEDO, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMWi) signed a joint statement of intent on bilateral cooperation in research, development and innovation in order to promote international research and development among Japanese and German companies.

In the joint statement, NEDO, METI and BMWi agreed to provide financial support for joint research and development projects between Japan and Germany based on the recognition that such projects will play an important role in strengthening industrial competitiveness and facilitating the globalization of both countries.

The signing was carried out at the venue of the Global Event for Digital Business (CeBIT 2017) in Hannover, Germany by Chairman Kazuo Furukawa of NEDO, Minister Hiroshige Seko of METI, and Minister Brigitte Zypries of BMWi.
