Ceremony Held to Celebrate the Completion of a Demonstration Plant for an Industrial Waste Incineration Power Generation System in Vietnam

On April 24, 2017, a ceremony was held in Hanoi in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to celebrate the completion of a demonstration plant for an industrial waste incineration power generation system developed as a joint project between NEDO, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) of Vietnam and the Hanoi People's Committee (HPC).

During the event, NEDO Executive Director Munehiko Tsuchiya said, "NEDO hopes that this project will contribute to resolving energy and environmental problems."

At the ceremony, the Japanese side was represented by Executive Director of NEDO Munehiko Tsuchiya, Senior Corporate Advisor of Hitachi Zosen Corporation Minoru Furukawa, and Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam Yoshito Nakajima, while the Vietnamese side was represented by Vice Chairman of the HPC Nguyen Doan Toan and General Director of Hanoi Urban Environment Co., Ltd (URENCO) Le Anh Tuan as well as other officials from Vietnamese government agencies including MONRE. Representatives of the industrial waste discharge companies in Hanoi attended the ceremony as well.
