NEDO Participated in Document Exchange Ceremony at Reception Hosted by the Russian-Japanese Business Council and the Russian Direct Investment Fund

On April 27, 2017, NEDO Chairman Kazuo Furukawa and Acting Head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov attended a document exchange ceremony for a letter of intent regarding further cooperation on waste treatment systems at a reception held by the Russian-Japanese Business Council and the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

The ceremony was held in the presence of the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov, and the Russian Minister of Economic Development Maksim Oreshkin.

NEDO previously signed a letter of intent regarding waste treatment technology with the Government of the Republic of Buryatia of the Russian Federation on December 16, 2016. Based on the agreement, NEDO will launch a study for a project in the Republic of Buryatia. In addition, NEDO Executive Director Makoto Watanabe and the Buryatian Minister of Natural Resources Yuriy Safiyanov signed a letter of intent regarding further cooperation on waste treatment systems on April 17, 2017.
