NEDO Held the "Solar Car Workshop for Kids" at "METI Kids Day"

August 4, 2017

On August 2 and 3, 2017, NEDO participated the "METI Kids Day" event held at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), where NEDO held a "Solar Car Workshop for Kids."

After learning about energy and environmental issues, as well as the mechanism of solar cells, the participants built a solar-powered car and tested it outdoors. The children were able to learn about solar power by actually experiencing how solar cars run on power from the sun, giving them a new appreciation for the energy production.

In addition, NEDO, in cooperation with Meiji University, held the presentation which focused on the theme of "AI Robots of the Future." NEDO presented a Security Robot SQ-1, the result of NEDO’s project, and introduced the latest robotic technology.
