NEDO Attended the Eastern Economic Forum, Signed a Letter of Intent for Enhanced Cooperation on Advanced Eco-Friendly Waste Treatment Systems

On September 6, 2017, at the Eastern Economic Forum, NEDO and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia of the Russian Federation signed a letter of intent (LOI) for enhanced cooperation on advanced eco-friendly waste treatment systems.

The LOI was focused on furthering developments in the field of urban planning in order to create comfortable and clean cities for citizens to live in. This was part of the eight-point cooperation plan in the economic field previously discussed at the Japan-Russia Summit. After confirming that NEDO would be able to complete the study, NEDO Executive Director Makoto Watanabe and Minister of Natural Resources of the Republic of Buryatia Yuriy Safiyanov signed the LOI.
