NEDO Held a Ceremony to Recognize Outstanding Research by AI Startups

On October 6, 2017, NEDO held a ceremony at "CEATEC JAPAN 2017" to honor the outstanding six research projects by AI startup companies, which were chosen competitively with the aim of discovering and supporting innovative AI technology, as a part NEDO's "Research Study on Next Generation AI Technology Field: Strategic Advancement of Multi-Purpose Ultra-Human and AI Technologies (SamuRAI)."

At the ceremony, the first prize, the second prize and the special jury prize were given by NEDO Chairman Kazuo Furukawa. The six winners from seven companies gave presentations on their outstanding research projects for FY 2017-2018.

By supporting startups, NEDO aims to promote the societal implementation of AI as well as strengthen industrial competitiveness through collaboration amongst AI technology firms, creating demand, and integrating with existing business fields.
