On October 31, 2017, NEDO held a ceremony at the Embassy of Japan in Moscow to celebrate the completion of a demonstration of an advanced traffic signal system, which aims to address the problem of intense traffic congestion.

Over the course of the demonstration, NEDO, in cooperation with the MOSCOW Government Traffic Control Center (MTCC), installed the advanced traffic signal systems at five consecutive intersections on Onezhskaya Street in Moscow, in order to verify their effect on reducing cars' travel time.
