NEDO Held the "Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) Innovative Design/Manufacturing Technologies Symposium 2017"

On November 13, NEDO co-hosted the "Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) Innovative Design/Manufacturing Technologies Symposium 2017," together with the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan in Tokyo.

At the symposium, President Junichiro Asami, of Innovative Japan., Ltd., and Professor Yasuyuki Nishioka, of the Hosei University Faculty of Engineering and Design Department of Art and Technology, gave lectures on expectations for Japanese manufacturing from a management perspective.

In addition, Program Director Naoya Sasaki and representatives for the twelve project themes presented the outlines and latest research results on the SIP Innovative Design/Manufacturing Technologies. A poster session was held with posters and prototypes explaining the 18 project themes.

More than 250 people participated in the symposium. NEDO and the participants exchanged a wide range of views, including on the expansion and commercialization of research and development results.
