"NEDO Robot and AI Forum 2017" Held at "International Robot Exhibition 2017"

As part of its participation in the "International Robot Exhibition 2017" (iREX 2017) that took place from November 29 to December 2 at Tokyo Big Sight, NEDO hosted the "NEDO Robot and AI Forum 2017," entitled "Robots & AI for Happiness."

At the forum, held on November 29, NEDO introduced its new initiatives and other topics, while experts who are at the forefront of academic and industry research gave lectures on the latest trends in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, R&D, and business. They also discussed topics such as the issues faced by the future societal implementation of robots and AI technologies. NEDO Chairman Kazuo Furukawa greeted attendees by saying that NEDO would like to further promote projects in the fields of robotics and AI technology, in order to contribute to the realization of "Society 5.0".

In addition, the NEDO booth held an exhibition and demonstration featuring twelve of the latest robots and AI technologies that are expected to achieve extensive real world use in various fields, including manufacturing, services, infrastructure maintenance, and disaster response. At the booth, a presentation by the exhibitor was also held, which attracted many visitors.
