�p���v��In our research project entitled �gStandardization of methods of analysis of oxygen in magnesium metal and magnesium alloys �h supported by NEDO Research and Development to Promote the International Standardization, we were researched and developed four sub-themes which �gthe methods of sampling�h, �gexamined the common analysis sample�h, �gthe search for an applicable range of the alloy�h and �gthe search for the range of an applicable commercial apparatus�h. As a result, the oxygen analysis result was found to be corresponding in the tendency with the in the inclusion evaluation result by "K molding method". The oxide dispersion alloy samples which be able to use for an international examination were made. It is confirmed that this methods was applicable for almost all of the magnesium alloys, and this method is can be used with almost commercial apparatus. A technical content was announced to public in conferring on ISO/TC79/SC5, and the draft of the ISO standard was made.
