1. Outline of this Project : The low temperature heat sources such as hot water less than 100℃, exhaust gas less than 250℃, are usually difficult to be utilized because the temperature is too low. In this project, an absorption heat pump will be developed to generate 150℃ steam by utilizing these low temperature heat sources with the chamber pressure below the atmospheric pressure. Moreover, an absorption heat pump will be also developed to generate 180℃ steam with the chamber pressure exceeds the atmospheric pressure. 2. Development of 150℃ test apparatus : A 150℃ test apparatus was planed and designed based on the basic design specification examined by Waseda University. The 150℃ test apparatus was manufactured for demonstration tests. From the results of the tests, the absorption cycle of the 150℃ test apparatus and the generation of steam were confirmed.
3. Development of 150℃ practical size prototype : A 150℃ practical size prototype will be designed according to the test results of the 150℃ test apparatus. In the present, the prototype was proportional designed with the composition similar to the 150℃ test apparatus and the scheme drawing was finished. 4. Safety measure (correspondence to regulations ) : By meeting with the Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association, the correspondence guideline to the regulations will be provided by Absorption Chillers Division of JRAIA. 5. Examination of auxiliary components and test of materials : The auxiliary components, such as the spray apparatuses and the high temperature circulation pumps were examined for practical use in the absorption heat pump. Various types of the spray apparatuses, such as drop type, siphon type and spray nozzle type were investigated.
In this heat pump, a high temperature circulation pump is necessary. The magnet pump is one type of the high temperature circulation pumps. The structure of the magnet pump is simple and the cost is inexpensive. The endurance test of the magnet pump in the water with iron component and the overhaul were prepared. In addition, the immersion test of the materials which will be used for the 150℃ steam generation system such as SS400, SUS430, SUS304, Cu and Cu-Ni were conducted in LiBr solution of 165℃ for 30 days.
