和文要約本委託事業は、3種類のセラミックスの部材(高比剛性、高耐性、高温断熱)に関して、省エネ製造技術開発に係わる研究を実施してきた。
高比剛性部材に関しては、脆性のB4C表面に接合加工時に生じる微細クラック内への卑金属の超浸透現象と反応によって欠陥が消失し、母材と同程度の強結合を実現することができ、当初の目標を大きくクリアーすることができた。高耐性部材に関しては、局所加熱法によるアルミナの強接合に目処が立ち、マイクロウェイブによりサセプターの工夫と超塑性の有効性を実証した。高温断熱部材に関しては、ユニットの設計と1/4モデルでの試作評価により、軽量化と保温性において、当初の目標を達成することができた。
英文要約Based on the combination of conventional castables and newly advocated hollow unit, the potential of lightweight and heat-insulating materials was studied. Furthermore, due to the improvement of heat transfer area design for hollow unit structure, superior lightweight and heat-insulating materials were also expected. In order to establish energy saving joining technology, silicon nitride joining study was conducted. Silicon nitride was joined with glass or silicon nitride powder as insert materials under mechanical pressure. Joining was successfully obtained. Joined silicon nitride exhibited high strength near bulk silicon nitride. As for defect detection technology, X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) study was conducted. SEM observation method is inefficient, so innovative method is required. Joint part of silicon nitride was sterically examined by X-ray CT. Crack, inclusion, separation, etc. were successfully observed. X-ray CT is useful as a non-destructive evaluation technique. Also microwave heating properties of a solid state sintered SiC and a reaction bonded SiC were studied. A multi mode microwave furnace was used. As a result, temperature rising rate of the solid state sintered SiC was faster than that of the reaction bonded SiC. And maximum temperature of the solid state sintered SiC was higher than that of the reaction bonded SiC. Regarding corrosion behavior, the reaction bonded SNC ceramics for aluminum casting processes in molten Al-Si alloy was investigated. Thru the thermodynamic calculation, the function of corrosion for those materials was also investigated.
