1.Contents and results of a joint research: ORIX Corporation, together with NISSAN MOTOR CO.,LTD., Hitachi, Ltd., and ORIX Auto Corporation, executed R&D and demonstration of an energy management system, consists of EVs with bi-directional charging capability, EV charging station with solar panel and EV car-sharing management system. We developed Evaluation approach for the best specification of EV Charging station with Solar Panel in FY2010. (1) Transition of charge demand for EV by car-sharing operation data analysis: In case of using EV Charging station with Solar Panel at the car-sharing station, pattern of the usage can be different depending on its location. Therefore, we picked up data of four different sites where ORIX Auto Corporation is running car-sharing business with gasoline engine vehicle. By using one-month data of the four different sites we simulated an power storage of EV battery. Conditions: A. EV battery capacity is 24 kwh. B. Use both low speed charger device and quick charger device. In this simulation, with an assumption that the EV is located in office building and/or train station, electricity balance of the EV battery theoretically falls below 0 so often, because the EV runs for long distance. It is partially seen as well in case it is supposed to be located in an apartment. (2) Examination of possibility of integration of Energy management system of ground setting type rechargeable battery system and Energy management system of EV for car sharing: In addition to the EV energy management system, the energy management system that uses the ground setting type rechargeable battery set up in the building and the apartment house, etc. will spread in the future. In this case, we simulated the energy management with condition that seven families of residents in an apartment share one EV. As a result, the amount of the electric power system supply was smoothed by the appropriate energy management. (3) Result summary: In apartment house, because the power demand for the charge with EV battery is relatively small compared with the power demand of the apartment house, the effect of the energy management with EV battery is limited. In a word, it is estimated that low speed charger device service would be enough for apartment house. However, because it is anticipated that charging to EV would happen at peak time of the power demand of the residence, it needs to be well examined the energy management method of an interactive system in V2H. On the other hand, in office building and/or office, it is considered that the EV battery amount of the electric power used and the amount of the supplied electricity from EV temporarily produce a large amount of the current. Therefore, it is necessary to develop energy management method that compounds EV battery and ground setting type rechargeable battery.
