This project is carried out by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in cooperation with Nissan Motor Co.,Ltd.,HITACHI, Ltd., and ORIX Corporation under the name of Yokohama Smart City Project ( YSCP) in Yokohama City which is selected as the area of "Demonstration of a Next-generation energy and social system". The purpose of this project is R&D and demonstration of an energy management system consisting of EVs with bi-directional charging capability and EV charging stations with solar panel and EV car-sharing management system. We, ORIX Auto Corporation, took charge of the study and development of EV carsharing operation system connected to the energy management system of the EV charging station with solar panel. From Nov 2010 to Mar 2011, we have done the research on the procedure of transferring the reservation data which is necessary for the control of energy management of solar power generation ?from EV carsharing operation system. We have also developed the on-board computer system for the EV with bi-directional charging capability. We determined the system requirements for the cooperation between the carsharing operation system and the system of EV charging station with solar panel. We also examined when and what information to transfer. As a result, we find that EV on-board computer system needs the function of acquiring information of the users' satisfaction level and monitoring the status of battery along with changing reservation time.
