1-1. 事業概要
本事業では、大阪ガスが開発したメタン選択性吸着材料を活用したCMM 濃縮技術を中国の炭鉱に導入し、CMM 中に含まれるメタンと空気を効率的に吸着分離し、メタンを濃縮することにより、CMM の有効利用を行う。また本技術は、低濃度CMM を安全に取り扱うための設備と制御システムを有しており、これまでに中国遼寧省の炭鉱で技術開発実証試験を完了しているものである。
現状、実施サイトである山西潞安集団余呉煤業では抽出されるメタン濃度30%以下のCMMはほとんど有効利用できず、大気に放散されている。一方、炭鉱周辺では、近隣住居のガス需要を賄うために、他の都市からCNG を購入し、ガス供給している(図1)。
本事業では、CMM 濃縮技術を導入することにより、大気に放散されていたCMM を都市ガス供給に必要な濃度まで濃縮し、CNG を代替する都市ガス原料として有効利用し(図2)、エネルギーの代替と温室効果ガスの削減を目指す。
英文要約This project has been launched to introduce coal mine methane (CMM) concentration technology to a coal mine in China and thereby make effective use of CMM. This technology uses a methane-selective adsorption material developed by Osaka Gas Co. to efficiently adsorb and separate the methane and air found in CMM, then concentrate the methane. Consisting of device and control system, this technology can treat the low-concentration coal mine methane . This technology has already been verified through the demonstration test in a coal mine in Liaoning Province, China.
At present, Yuwu Coal Mining Co. of the Shanxi Lu’an Group, where this project will be implemented, discharges most of the CMM with a methane concentration of 30% or less into the atmosphere, without making effective use of the gas, while nearby cities buy compressed natural gas (CNG) from other cities to meet the gas demand of residents.
The purpose of this project is to use CMMmost of which is currently lost to the atmosphereto replace CNG and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. To that end, CMM concentration technology will be used to concentrate CMM to a level that enables its use as a city gas.
The following are the results achieved by Osaka Gas in FY2011.
(1) Formulation of master plan for CMM concentration facility construction (Company in charge: Osaka Gas)
Starting with the Basic Agreement and its Appendices, Osaka Gas formulated the project’s master schedule. Jointly with Osaka Gas Engineering Co., Osaka Gas also prepared equipment purchase specifications on the basis of facility design conditions. In addition, Osaka Gas checked and assessed the quotations submitted by equipment manufacturers. Further, the company prepared and checked the documents to be submitted to the Chinese government through Lu’an Group for the official approval of this project.
(2) CMM concentration facility construction field management (Company in charge: Osaka Gas)
Osaka Gas formulated the CMM concentration facility construction schedule with Lu’an Group and equipment vendors.
(3) Design
a) Process design (Company in charge: Osaka Gas)
Osaka Gas completed CMM concentration process design, including facility heat balance/material balance calculation, preparation of process flow chart (Figure 3) and getting control procedures/interlock design concepts into shape.
b) Civil engineering and construction, mechanical equipment, instrumentation/system, electrical equipment design (Company in charge: Osaka Gas Engineering)
Osaka Gas Engineering carried out the basic design of the mechanical equipment, instrument/system and electrical equipment of the CMM concentration facility. The company also checked the detailed design specifications from the suppliers of the VPSA vacuum pumps, the air-operated valves for VPSA process switching and CMM concentration model plant construction work. Additionally, the company prepared the basic specifications for civil engineering and construction design, after due consideration of Yuwu Coal Mining Co. of Shanxi Lu’an Group’s planned CMM concentration facility construction site, as well as applicable Chinese laws and regulations.
