(1) 既存装置の性能確認・改善、新設装置の詳細設計と設置
既存のガス化発電装置の性能確認、点検を行い、外熱炉、反応炉などを当初の仕様への原状回復工事および既存設備のメンテナンスを行った。
試作品として既存装置の廃熱を利用する生ごみ乾燥装置を設計、導入した。
(2) 廃熱利用による生ごみ乾燥の研究開発

(6) CO2削減効果、経済性試算検討及び研究
発電、メタノール合成、生ごみ乾燥した場合のCO2削減効果、経済性試算検討などを行った。

1. Purpose of the project
Gasification power generation and methanol synthesis have been carried out using waste wood, waste paper, etc. in urban areas. Kitchen garbage is used as much as waste paper in urban areas and effective utilization of such biomass resources is widely expected.
In this R&D, kitchen garbage is dried using waste heat from a gasification device, and it is then utilized as gasification material or heating material for combustion furnaces. Practical application of a small device which can be applied to urban buildings/districts is the goal. As a result, realization of effective use of waste heat, reduction of waste mass, and recycling of waste are the main objectives.
2. Research and development results
(1) Improvement of the existing device, and detailed design and installation of new device
The performances of the existing furnace, gasification reaction tube, gas engine generator etc, were checked, and periodic check was done. Restoration to the original performance was accomplished. The prototype of kitchen garbage dryer, which used waste heat generated from an existing device, was designed and installed.
(2) Investigation of waste heat drying
Garbage dryer was examined using wet rice husk, and obtained drying data.
(3) Issues of kitchen garbage gasification
We checked the composition of the generated biogas using the ordinary kitchen garbage.
(4) Target of refined synthetic methanol and cost examination
The catalyst was exchanged and hydrogenation in the methanol synthesis device. The maintenance has been done. Ingredients of synthetic methanol were checked.
(5) Development of the optimally-automated control in gasification
We examined the flow rate and temperature of exhaust gas in the garbage dryer. We have modified the parameter in automated control of gasification.
(6) Effect of CO2 reduction, examination of economical evaluation
We examined the effect of the CO2 reduction and economical evaluation in the power generation, synthetic methanol, and garbage dryer and so on.
(7) Middle annual report and the other report etc.
Middle annual report was submitted.
(8)Promotion committee
The first promotion committee was held on October 26, 2011 and the second promotion committee on March 15, 2012 inviting experts in gasification technology and building technology. Many valuable comments and suggestions were obtained through the meeting.
