A Battery and Charger Integrated System (BCIS) is a charging system for electrical vehicles (EV) with batteries. The BCIS stores the surplus electric power which has generated by photovoltaic system in a community (hundreds of-for thousands of houses). And the BCIS rapidly charges the plural EVs using the accumulated power in batteries and the power from the electrical distribution network. In other words, the BCIS provides supply and demand adjustment function of electric power by appropriate battery charging and discharging based on the surplus electric power information on the community energy management system (CEMS). The effect of BCIS is stabilization of both fluctuation of daytime power supply increase by PV and fluctuation of power demand increase by EV. In addition, a service station operator can reduce investment in large power receipt equipment by introduction of BCIS. First, we considered requirement of BCIS. One of the requirements is an architecture which is easy to add a quick charger and the battery unit according to the spread of EV in future. Then, we designed BCIS architecture and detail function of a trial system, and developed the simulator of BCIS and the prototype of power control algorithm. Furthermore, we confirmed the charge time reduction effect by the electric power resource control on the simulator. In the next fiscal year, we will develop the trial system in the first half year and evaluate the system in the second half year.
