FY2011 Annual Report
First term of FY2011, miniature plant construction had extremely delayed by influence of the mega earth quake of the east Japan. Miniature plant was completed end of April for the basic experimental operation. And experimentation operations started after the vacation of May.
The miniature plant has a capacity of maximum 600mL/Hr as oil supply (LHSV3.0). Reactor were prepared 2 set, each reactor contains 200mL of catalyst. Reactor were prepared 2 set, this reasons is as a primary reactor shall be carbonized easily by advice from Kitakyushu University. Reactor size is 1.0 inches inner diameter and 500mm total heights. Reactor heaters were prepared each 1.0kW electric seas heater coiled over outer diameter of the reactor. Supply pump was prepared maximum 1.5L/hr for source oil and water, and high pressure (20mPa) nitrogen bombe was prepared as an inert carrier gas. Supply vessel volume is 10L, receiver vessel is 20L.After the miniature plant was delivered, experimental operations were started. By the first step, disintegrated oil came out easily, but acid value of disintegrated oil was high.
To find the solution of this problem, numerous countermeasures were examined, as for example heat distribution of the reactor, and methods of pouring source oil. However, recreation could not confirm the university examined results. At the next step, methodology of pouring source oil changed to up flow from down flow for maximize of the space of catalyst. At this step, pretty good results were obtained. At the next step, fist reactor size was enlarged for the materialization of scale up. The experimental operation were continued till now. FY 2011 was finished at this stage.
