1. Results of R&D
A) We constructed the ground-source heat pump’s system in Chofu City, Greater Tokyo.
This system consisted of twenty-eight inner tubes which was six meters long and one heat pump (10 kw) mainly. We could extract the heat of 55kwh/day from the ground by
three months’ continuous operation in midwinter without any toruble. In general one household located in Greater Tokyo consumed the energy of 43kwh/day in winter, and 45kwh/day in midst winter. Therefore we could achieve enough supply of the energy for the household in this area. The electricity was consumed for only eight hours per day in midnight to reduce the charge of electricity. The temperature of soil around twenty-eight inner tubes was going down when this system had been operated for eight hours a day, however it was recovered during pause of operation which was sixteen hours.
B) We could reduce the material cost due to the disuse of outer tubes. The cost of material and excavation for all tubes of this system with the basement was one seventh as much as the ordinary one which tubes were more than 100 meters long. Even if this system would be built without the basement, we could forecast the total cost for all tubes was one fifth as much as the ordinary one.
C) We confirmed that COP value in this experiment was 2.5. As a result we could not reach our goal which COP value was 5. The main reason why we could not reach our target was that we had to produce and store hot water which was fifty centigrade in thermal storage tank. Hereafter we aimed at 4 of COP value to achieve, because we understood that 4 of COP value was enough high for our potential customers in Greater Tokyo.
D) We made a conclusion that we could sell the heat pump for less than five hundred thousand yen by the simplification of controlling and designing it and reduce the cost of thermal storage tank by simplification of the production method and by spreading polyethylene sheets in itself.
2. The outline of Business
We have a plan to sell and supply the ground-heat pump’s system for the house and the heat pump manufacturers. We will put Research and Development into practice from 2011 to 2013, and start full-scale sales in Greater Tokyo in 2015. We will expand our sales channels in the whole country by 2018. Urban Under Units Co.,Ltd. will take the initiative in doing this business. This company has a plan to sell the basement with this heat pump system for 11 million yen and the system itself for 2 million yen.
We expect that the turnover and the operating earnings for three years from 2015 to 2018 are as follows;
