1.Result of R&D: We constructed another ground-source heat pump’s system in Chofu City, Greater Tokyo for the further experiments. In order to obtain the suitable conditions for heat extraction, we changed several parameters such as the diameter of tube, the arrangement of tubes, the temperature of antifreeze and so on, during our experiments. Finally we confirmed that COP (Coefficient Of Performance) value was 3.1 under the condition that the heat extraction temperature was 3 degrees centigrade and the velocity of flowing fluid regarding antifreeze was 5.2 liter per minute. At that time we could extract the heat of 44.5w/m from the ground by using the same axle iron tubes with a diameter of 50 millimeters. Moreover we confirmed that COP value was 3.5 when we used the solar water heater simultaneously. We recognized that more than 90 percent of total solar energy was accumulated in the under ground by using 168 meter polyethylene tube with a diameter of 20 millimeters. Therefore we had bright prospects that we could reach our goal which COP value was 4 on above-suitable conditions and by using improved heat pump system additionally. We manufactured the thermal energy recovery equipment which could extract heat from sewage of household by way of trial. It cost about 20 thousand yen. We manufactured the simple digging machine that the total cost of digging was about 100 thousand yen also. Moreover we designed thermal energy storage unit which cost 300 thousand yen. At this moment the total cost of our system is 2.62 million yen. However our final target is 1.84 million yen. We constructed the ground-source heat pump’s system in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa prefecture. We did several experiments in the different places in order to investigate the diversity and the influence for heat extraction from underground due to different soils. We don’t have made any conclusion due to the insufficiency of experiments yet. On the other hand, we recognized that there was no mutual interference of two tubes if they would be laid underground at the interval of two meters or more according to our simulation using the program on the market. 2.Result of Market research: We did market research for our end-users and house-manufacturers. The result of this research showed us that most of our customers in end would like to purchase our product at the price of 1.5 to 2 million yen and hoped the amortization period was 10 to 15 years. Moreover some house-manufacturers told us that the purchase price of our product would be 2 million yen and COP value of 3.5 would be acceptable. We could reduce the total cost of our product down to 2.62 million yen. However our target of total cost is 1.84 million yen in order that we can sell this at the price of 2 million yen for house manufacturers. We need more cost reduction for the early start-up of this business.
