(A) Safety moving assistance technology under acceptable risk in a life space: It aims at development of the Safety moving assistance technology under acceptable risk in a life space of a boarded type mobile robot. Real-time risk analysis of the moving risk which changes every moment will be established. The calculation technique of "risk diminution velocity" based on the risk analysis will be developed. The experimental algorithm mounting and secondary evaluations of such technologies were completed in the 2012 fiscal year. (B) Development of Safety Element Module; Laser Range-Image Sensor: (1) Defined the performance specifications conforming to installation environment. (2) Proposition of safety sensor certification system based on the requirement of IEC61496. (3) Prototype production and evaluation of the safety sensor conforming to the risk assessment result of system and the requirement specifications. (4) Development and evaluation of the expansion of the range, and improve the durability of safety sensors.(C) Development of Safety Element Module; TOF-Range Image Camera: (1) Designed and made an optics (2) Designed and made an image processing unit in the TOF Range Image Camera to compress a Range Image data fitting conditions of installation on the robot. (3) Designed and made a waterproof case. (4) Proposal of the way for type approval on safety sensor which is not on IEC61496. (5) Design and ported a safety internal communication format for large sized Range Image DATA.(D) Development of Safety Element Module; Wireless communication of safety information which is an emergency stop signal etc.:(1) Designed safety communication module: Implementation design of safety communication module that based on safety concept. (2) Safety communication module prototype: Prototype implementation for experimentation. Implementation of the components of safety communication module available to wireless and wired communication.
